Why I'm doing this
The first thing I need to point out is that I am not a climate scientist. I have a Masters of Science Communication and a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours, and my major was in Zoology.
My knowledge of climate change comes partly from my undergraduate education, and partly from personal exploration of the literature.
The researchers here are different. They have dedicated large parts of their lives to researching the causes, impacts and implications of climate change. It’s their job to understand it. And they do.
I am not here to defend the science. The vast majority of researchers agree that climate change is real and that humans are to blame. I’m here to show that these scientists aren’t nameless, faceless boffins. They’re real people.
They get it.
And they want us to act.
